I consider teaching a very important and pleasant academic/social responsibility. While there are many reasons why teaching is important, the most compelling one is that it is one of the most effective ways to share our knowledge, thus ensuring that our field grows and prospers.
We use a variety of techniques to motivate our students, e.g., interactive sessions, using real life examples for associating classroom topics with current events & examples based on our professional experiences.
I can say with my experience that when students set a firm and high expectations they move on the learning path more efficiently and effectively to achieve their goals
